Databases
Create a MySQL database for a plugin or a mod, find its connection details, reset its password, and understand the one change a day limit.

Plenty of plugins and mods want a MySQL database. The Databases tab creates one and hands you the credentials.
Only the person who owns the service can use this page.
Create one
- Click New database.
- Put a name in Name. Lowercase letters, digits and underscores, 2 to 48 characters. Something like
gameserver. The host adds a prefix so it stays unique. - Leave Allowed from as
%unless you have a reason not to.%means any address can connect with the right password. Put a single IPv4 address in to lock it down. - Click Create database.
The username and password are generated for you and shown straight away.
The connection details
Each database row shows four things: Host, Port, Database and Username.
The password is hidden behind a Reveal button. There is a copy button for it, and a second copy button for the whole connection string.
text
mysql://user:password@host:3306/databasePaste those into your plugin's configuration. Most of them want the host, the port, the database name, the username and the password as five separate settings.
Resetting the password
Click Reset password on a row. A new password is generated straight away.
Anything using the old password stops working immediately, so update your plugin's configuration and restart the server.
You can reset a password as often as you like. It is not limited.
Deleting one
Click Delete, type the database name to confirm, and click Delete permanently.
Every table, row and user in that database is destroyed immediately and cannot be recovered. Take a copy first if the data still matters.
Rebuilding one
Rebuild drops the database and creates an empty one in its place, with a new username and password. Nothing is carried over. You can give it a new name at the same time, or keep the one it has.
It asks you to type the database name to confirm.
The one a day limit
Deleting or rebuilding is limited to one per service per day.
That is deliberate. It means a mistake cannot be repeated on the same afternoon, and nobody can empty out your databases one after another. The page tells you when the next one is available.
Resetting a password is not limited by this.
How many you get
The chip at the top shows how many databases you hold out of how many your plan allows. Some plans include none at all, in which case the page says so.
The Additional MySQL database add-on raises the number. See Add-ons.
Backups do not cover this
A backup copies the files on your server. It does not include your databases, and restoring a backup does not roll a database back.
If your plugin keeps its data in MySQL, export the database yourself with a MySQL client, using the connection details on this page. That export is your only copy.
